In order to provide effective career management services, it is
imperative that we mutually take the necessary steps to maximize
the success of each career move.  With your cooperation and
trust, the career management strategy facilitated by these Rules of
Engagement will result in a highly targeted approach to your next
career move.  You will experience less frustration.  Most
importantly, with a strategically planned approach to your career
pursuit, you won’t make critical mistakes or miss out on the right
opportunity at the right time.
We need your agreement on the following points:
1.
THE TOP GUN EXECUTIVE GROUP must have a thorough understanding of your skills and
accomplishments as well as your personal and professional goals.  You must complete a
Candidate Pre-Search Assessment and Reference Release Form.
2.
We must have complete access to you. Nobody knows your hopes, dreams, ambitions or
schedule better than you.
3.
Take our calls or return calls promptly.  If we’re calling, it’s important.  We will not waste your
time.
4.
Give us two or three tentative times for interviews with companies we present to you while we
are on the phone presenting them.  Both your schedule and the hiring manager’s schedule have
to be coordinated.  At times, this can be a real challenge for
both parties.  Be as flexible as possible.
5.
In most cases, more than one person is involved in making
life decisions.  We must have permission to speak with those
who know and care about you, such as your spouse,
significant other, best friend and professional references. 
These people can provide insight and support for such
important decisions.
6.
Be prepared to sell yourself to any company with which you
interview.  What do you have to offer that makes you stand
out from among your peers?
7.
Follow up with us immediately after each interview.  Details are clearest in everyone’s mind just
after an interview.  Greater detail results in better decisions.
8.
Make a lasting impression by sending the employer a thank you/follow-up letter for interviewing
with you.  This simple gesture will give you an advantage over your competition.
9.
At the offer stage, THE TOP GUN EXECUTIVE GROUP negotiates all compensation on your
behalf.  Remember, it is to both our advantages for you to get the best package possible.
10.
THE TOP GUN EXECUTIVE GROUP will either resign on your behalf or at the very least, walk
you through the entire resignation process.
11.
You agree to disclose to us all interviews (past and present), all recruiters you are working with
currently or that contact you during the course of our relationship, all places you have posted
your resume on the internet and/or all companies with which you have submitted your resume for
consideration.
12.
You agree to suspend your personal search efforts for a minimum of four (4) weeks.  Making full
and effective use of our career management efforts on your behalf will save you time and money
and will prove to have more favorable results.  Remember, you go through this a few times in a
lifetime … we navigate through this process every single day.  This is what we do best …
